Starzs Marine & Engineering Limited is a limited liability company incorporated in Nigeria on 28th October, 1992. SMEL is the operator of Starzs Shipyard, the oldest Privately-owned indigenous ship repair yard in the country, which is located in the Oil and Gas Free Zone Onne, Rivers State. The shipyard occupies a total land area of 7.38 hectares with approximately 210m of waterfront. Currently the company operated with a 500 tons Floating Dock. The company provides dry docking and afloat repair services to Nigerian Shipowners, Nigerian Regulatory Agencies such as NIMASA and NPA as well as the Nigerian Navy. Since inception, it has successfully carried out over 900 dry docking projects with a wide area of work-scope.
