Stephenson College JCR

We are the Junior Common Room of Stephenson College, Durham University! We are a student-led organisation that provides and supports the non-academic aspects of university life including social events, sports teams, societies, as well as providing a forum through which students can voice their concerns and shape the community around them. The JCR is run by the students, for the students. Our Executive and Non-Executive Officers are students, directly elected by our members, ensuring accountability and providing opportunities for our members to get involved with the management of the JCR. As a part of Stephenson College and Durham University, we promote our values of curiosity, responsibility, innovation, inclusivity, and courageousness in all that we do, enriching the university experience of our members. We also strive to follow our namesake George Stephenson and fulfil our motto; One day I shall astonish the world!
