Sterling Boiler & Mechanical, Inc. began and grew from a need for swift, reliable service for utilities in southern Indiana, which were having difficulty making repairs in a timely manner. The extensive down times experienced by these utilities led Dan Felker, an experienced boilermaker, to found a company to meet these needs. Sterling Boiler & Mechanical began in 1982 and focused primarily on small emergency repairs. In meeting the needs of utilities through small emergencies, Sterling found an increasing need to add pipefitters and millwrights to their operation, and from there the company continued to grow. Over 25 years later, Sterling serves a variety of clients in the Power Generation, Chemical, Plastics, Aluminum, Metal Processing, Oil Refining, and Paper Processing industries. Our service area has grown beyond the confines of the tri-state area and now includes the entire United States.
