Computer Lounge and Library is an organization in the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo, established in order to assist the undergraduates in the faculty. In 1998, while Prof. w.d. Lakshman was the vice-chancellor, Prof.Ashu Maarasinghe, who was the president of the student council of the Faculty of Science, University of Colombo, first introduced the idea of a computer lounge. Since 1998, the Computer and Library Lounge has aided undergraduates by providing reference material and other educational material, computer and Internet access, printouts at a reasonable price, and technical help
