Making disciples of Jesus through Clean Water, Education, and Mentorship. SuNica was founded in 2009 by Alan, Josh, and Betty to provide school supplies to disadvantaged children in a Nicaraguan slum community named El Limonal. Then in 2013, Josh and Betty - now happily married! - relocated to Nicaragua and began our Discipleship and Education program in that same community, while Alan stayed behind in the United States to fund the mission. Fast forward to 2017, where weve been blessed with some incredible, tangible success; -SuNicas team has grown from 3 people in 2013 to a staff of 26 in Nicaragua (mostly Nicaraguans) and 3 in the United States. -The Discipleship and Education program started out serving 40 kids in El Limonal, and has expanded to reach almost 200 children in three different communities every week.
