Sussex Development Corporation

Sussex Development was formed in 1990, by Harry Davis, a Virginia Beach native and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University graduate. After working for several large general contractors he grew increasingly frustrated with their philosophies on how to treat clients and employees. Harry decided he wanted to take his passion for construction and create a company that incorporated his core values of honesty, integrity, dedication and quality, to serve not only the Hampton Roads market, but the entire mid-Atlantic region. Sussex Development was born out of a one-room office with just three employees, who all remain active team members today. Sussex Development has remained a closely held corporation, with over 300 combined years of construction experience, spread among its twenty-two employees.
