The Tahoe Regional Planning Agencys vision is for a Lake environment that is sustainable, healthy and safe for the community and future generations. Under the its Bi-State Compact, TRPA is directed to establish environmental threshold carrying capacities and to adopt and enforce a regional plan and implementing ordinances which will achieve and maintain such capacities while providing opportunities for orderly growth and development consistent with such capacities, and to ensure an equilibrium between the regions natural endowment and its manmade environment.
