TANGLIN WAS NAMED AFTER THE CHINESE NAME TWA TANG LENG WHICH MEANS GREAT EAST HILL PEAKS. It is a neighbourhood in Singapore that used to be home to many Spice plantations. Like its famous neighbour Orchard, 17th century Tanglin mostly comprised of gambier, nutmeg and pepper plantations. But, again like its neighbour, the colonial period saw Tanglin converted into residences for the Europeans and Chinese. We like to call this is an old-world modern gin.
