Welcome to the Office for Maori Crown Relations - Te Arawhiti (Te Arawhiti). Te Arawhiti is dedicated to fostering strong, ongoing, and effective relationships with Maori across Government. Our name, Te Arawhiti, means the bridge. The name symbolises the bridge between Maori and the Crown, the past and the future, and the journey from grievance to partnership. Our vision: Realising the promise of Te Tiriti o Waitangi/the Treaty of Waitangi for New Zealanders Our objectives for the Maori Crown Relationship: Restore (whakaora) | Sustain (Whakapumau) | Grow (Whakatipu) e ora ai, e pumau ai, e tipu ai a Aotearoa. Our priorities: 1. We work at pace to complete all Treaty Settlements 2. We complete all takutai moana determinations 3. We successfully implement all Treaty settlements 4. We provide a centre of excellence on Treaty matters to government 5.
