Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) Thailand signed the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in June 1992 and ratified the Convention in March 1995. Realizing the seriousness of climate change as a global threat, the country has been contributing to international efforts to address climate change issues, as a Non- Annex I country. In February 1999, Thailand signed the Kyoto Protocol, and ratified it on 28th August 2002. As a Non-Annex I country, Thailand promotes the implementation of Clean Development Mechanisms (CDM) under the Kyoto Protocol in order to encourage clean and environmental friendly technologies for greenhouse gas reduction in the country, as well as to promote the countrys capability by developing sustainable business practices.
