The Braj Foundation

Founded in 2005, this organization is engaged in the grass root development of the Braj region ( the land of Lord Krishna, 5000 sq km spread across UP, Rajasthan and Haryana HQed at Vrindavan, near Delhi), including afforestation, water management, sustainable rural eco-tourism development and rebuilding heritage sites. The Foundations efforts, which began with restoration of age old water retention tanks, commonly called kunds, have now spread to the revival of sacred groves or vans, regeneration of around 18000 acres of hilly terrain or Parvats into lush-green pasture lands, and resurrection of River Yamuna.
