The Childrens Shelter

The Childrens Shelter is a private, nationally accredited nonprofit corporation. Since 1901, we have provided a safe haven for child survivors of abuse, neglect, and abandonment in San Antonio and Bexar County. Today, The Childrens Shelter is a trauma-informed care certified organization that provides a continuum of care through our family of services. We provide emergency shelter and residential treatment for children in crisis and helps children find permanent homes through foster care and adoption. Our Family Strengthening programs teach nurturing parenting skills to vulnerable families and help families overcome crises.
