The Civil Affair Institute

The Civil Affairs Institute is a public benefit organisation, independent from political parties and interest groups. The initiative to found the Institute was born in 2004, based on experiences from the 1996-2003 project, Nationwide Campaign for Sustainable Transport in Poland, implemented with financial support from the Rockefeller Brothers Fund and specialist assistance from the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy. The mission of the Institute is to develop, form and promote civic attitudes. We dream of a society in which the citizens care for common goods, are actively involved in public life, aware of their rights and obligations and able to cooperate. From the beginning we have tried to bring together social activists and experts interested in working for common good within our projects. Our programmes are directed to citizens, as well as public administration, local authorities, the media and NGOs
