The Elder Statesman

In 2007, Greg Chait, launched the luxury lifestyle brand, the Elder Statesman, a collection founded on the principles of exceptional quality, impeccable craftsmanship and the finest natural materials. The inspiration behind the brand originated from a simple cashmere blanket that had been gifted to Chait. Struck by its luxurious texture and practicality, he began to collect blankets on his world travels, ranging from France and Scotland to Italy and Ethiopia. Inspired by the manufacturing process and understanding that there was a huge gap in the market for items made and designed at the highest level, he decided to launch The Elder Statesman Brand. With his beginnings in custom blankets, Chait first transitioned into knitted hats before expanding to include full ready-to-wear, accessories, home interiors and eyewear collections.
