The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre

klpac was established in 2005 as Malaysias only fully-integrated arts center with end-to-end facilities dedicated to the advancement of the performing arts in Malaysia. The Centres 7,614 sq metres of space nestled in a lush 35-acre park just a stones throw from KL City Centre houses facilities which include a 504-seater proscenium theatre, a 200-seater experimental black box theatre, a 100-seater indicine for indie film screenings and smaller shows, an Academy with 9 studios, a set construction workshop as well as a cafe and a bar. Its building is over 100 years old. Starting as a wood-crafting workshop and sawmill, it then became part of the iconic Sentul Parks, one of the regions most important railway depot and workshop. It was converted into a make-shift golf clubhouse in the late 1960s and was in use until the early 1990s.
