The Life Initiative

The Life Initiative (TLI) provides capital to benefit low and moderate income people and communities. We seek to preserve and expand affordable and mixed income housing opportunities which allow access for lower income households to a high quality environment. TLI seeks to strengthen and help build healthy communities through investment in key community services including healthcare, education and childcare, support services, as well as employment opportunities. TLI takes a comprehensive approach to lending and investment, and believes providing flexible capital to our borrowers is one important component in revitalizing communities and alleviating poverty. The Life Initiative (TLI) is a $100 million dollar community investment fund created in 1999 by Massachusetts-based life insurance companies.
