The Lisheen Mine

The Zinc International division of Vedanta manages the following Zinc Operations; Black Mountain Mining in South Africa, Skorpion Zinc in Namibia, and the Lisheen Mine in Ireland. The Lisheen Mine commenced underground mining in 1999. The milling facility at The Lisheen Mine was commissioned in 1999 and the Backfill plant in 2004. The facility is scheduled to cease production of lead and zinc concentrate at the end of September 2015 and completion of Backfilling operations by mid February 2016.
