The Monastery Event Center

Rich in Cincinnati history and tradition, Mt Adams is now home to the Queen Citys newest event space. Formerly Holy Cross Church, home to Irish Catholics, the church was merged with Immaculata, the German parish in the late 1970s. Built in 1895, this magnificent landmark, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, slowly declined as it sat empty for nearly 40 years. Mt Adams, home to the first vineyard in the United States, home to the Cincinnati Observatory at one time, became the perfect backdrop to rejuvenate the former church. Careful reverence was used to bring the building back to life. The original brick walls, 120 years old, were left untouched. Many historic artifacts including photos, original kneelers, and pews are placed throughout the former church to share its rich past. The Monastery Event Center has achieved LEED certification and has a fully equipped kitchen, and a private label Monastery bubbly. It uses the same grape that Nicholas Longworth used when ...
