The New York Climate Exchange

The New York Climate Exchange (The Exchange) is a first-of-its-kind collaborative model for accelerating climate change solutions for New York City and beyond. Powered by its strong partnerships and future home on Governors Island, The Exchange will use education, research, an innovation hub, job training, and public programs to prepare communities to respond to climate challenges. The Exchange is based on a simple idea: collaboration works. The Exchanges partner network includes climate experts, researchers, educators, business leaders, and community organizers who are working together to tackle the effects of climate change. Expected to open in 2028, The Exchanges home on Governors Island will be a beacon for sustainable and resilient urban environments around the world, using renewable energy and zero-waste technologies to generate more energy than it consumes.
