The Scotch Whisky Research Institute (SWRI)

The Scotch Whisky Research Institute is the industrys Research & Technology Organisation. We are funded by Scotch Whisky companies (our members) to carry out the research required to address current industry challenges. Our team of scientists work closely with our members to plan, execute, communicate and apply our research. Much of this research is carried out in our purpose-built laboratories, which house specialised equipment, or out in distilleries or other production sites. We also work in collaboration with a wide range of other companies and organisations
