The Shanghai Commercial & Savings Bank (SCSB) was founded 1915 in Shanghai, China, shortly after the establishment of the Republic of China. SCSB was founded with a Social Mission and its mission is To serve Society, support Businesses, and promote International Trade. The bank introduces such innovation such as One Yuan to open account to encourage savings, microfinance, inventory financing and other products to help small businesses. Today SCSB is headquarter in Taipei, with its subsidiary Shanghai Commercial Bank (SCB) headquarter in Hong Kong. In 1999 through a cross equity deal, setup The Three Shanghai Bank Alliance which includes SCSB (TW), SCB (HK), and Bank of Shanghai (CN).
