The State Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theater

The Primorsky Opera and Ballet Theater is the second one in the Russian Far East after the Opera and Ballet Theater of Sakha Republic (Yakutia). In terms of technical equipment the theater building is the best in Russia. The building consists of 7 floors plus 3 basement floors. There are two stages, 20 dressing rooms, 14 elevators, seven buffets and one restaurant. The main architectural feature of the building is the glass front implemented according to the cube in cube principle. The theaters Grand Hall is designed for large-scale opera and ballet performances. It is shaped like a horseshoe and can provide seating for up to 1380 people. Each seat is equipped with a personal cooling system which can be controlled by the viewer. The Grand Stage is designed so that the space behind the scenes is equal in size to the Stage itself.
