THE SYNERGY HEALTH CENTER

THE SYNERGY HEALTH CENTER provides mental health counseling and substance abuse treatment services for all ages from age 5 to mature adulthood. Our mission is to change lives through culturally sensitive counseling, recovery and wellness services. The Synergy Health Center is housed alongside The UrbanZone, found strategically located near downtown, and the East and North sides of Kalamazoo. For more than 14 years, SHC has been a place for healing and restoration, helping individuals and families regain hope and dreams for their future. The Synergy Center was begun when Executive Director, Valarie Cunningham, saw a gap in services being provided in a culturally sensitive manner to minorities and people of color. The original vision of the organization was to be a one stop source for individuals, or couples and families, needing counseling or substance abuse treatment, housing, jobs and parental support.
