In 2014 the company experienced the first layer adhesion problem first hand and came up with a novel smart adhesive, Magigoo, that sticks when hot and releases when cold. To date, Thought3D produces and sells 8 different 3D printing adhesive formulations, under the Magigoo brand. These work with all 3D printing plastics including Polypropylene (PP), PPGF, Polyamide (PA) or Nylon, Polycarbonate and even metal filament.
