Strategically located on the west coast of the U.S., Travis Air Force Base is the services largest air mobility installation and serves as a focal point and pillar of our countrys ability to project power against our adversaries and deliver hope to those in need. Made up of more than 10,000 personnel, the base has a yearly economic impact of approximately $1.67 billion. We fly the mighty KC-10 Extender, the C-17 Globemaster III, and the C-5M Super Galaxy across the globe. Our aerial port is the busiest in the west and our hospital is considered the Air Forces flagship medical center, focused on medical training and readiness.
