CPF Dualam was founded in 1956, by John Kidd as Canadian Plastics Fabricators, later becoming CPF Plastics and CPF Dualam in the 1970s. The company was acquired in 1990 by Dualam Plastics, headed by Paul Habib. Dualam was one of the first companies to fabricate piping & process vessels combining thermoplastics and fiberglass-reinforced thermoset resins. It became the technology and quality standard with prestigious clients such as Dow Chemical, Olin Chemical, PPG and many more chemical processors, particularly in the chloralkali Industry. As more and more companies recognized the benefits of thermoplastics such as PVC, PP, CPVC, PVDF, ECTFE, FEP, PFA, MFA in severe chemical services, the demand for quality Dual-Laminates grew steadily. The company expanded rapidly between 2003 and 2010 by acquiring Troy Manufacturing in Brockville, Ontario and Prolite Plastics, which became CPF Dualam Vancouver.
