UCSF HEAL Initiative

The Health, Equity, Action, and Leadership (HEAL) Initiative trains and transforms front-line health professionals by building a community dedicated to serving under-served communities as their lifelong choice. At HEAL, we believe health is achievable for even the most vulnerable populations in our world when we apply principles of equity, justice, and solidarity. We believe that people coming together can transform systems. Through the process, we also continue to be transformed. We currently have several programs empowering healthcare professionals to serve resource-denied communities around the world. 1. Global HEAL Program: Filling physician vacancies and empowering local health workers to HEAL resource-denied communities around the world. 2. Mexico Leadership Program: Providing HEALs transformational program in Spanish to nurses in rural Mexico. 3.
