Metores Trust a blend of metal and ores was the brainchild of Om Wadhwa in 1981. Wadhwa was born in 1938 in Malakwal village of pre-partition Punjab and lived a life full of surprises and dramatic upheavals. From being the son of a rich zamindar in undivided Punjab, he was reduced to being a refugee after 1947. After his education in Delhi, he began working with Mercury Travels at 16. Metores Trust began work in two areas education of the girl-child and health in Jharkhand and West Bengal. Today it has expanded to work across Jharkhand, West Bengal and Uttarakhand in the verticals of education and livelihoods. Today, the trust, which began as one mans vision, is supported by many individuals and well-wishers, including the EY Foundation, Rajeshwar Susheela Dayal Charitable Trust, and the Mohan Bharitya Trust
