About Us

UN Youth Victoria is a youth-led charity that aims to build the peoples movement for the United Nations through the education and empowerment of young Victorians. UN Youth Victoria is a division of UN Youth Australia, which pursues these aims at a national level. We also work directly with the Australian Government to promote youth empowerment. We are a founding member of the Australian Youth Forum and frequently make submissions to Senate inquiries on topics relevant to youth. Most importantly, in collaboration with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, we nominate an Australian Youth Representative to the United Nations General Assembly, who joins the Australian Delegation to the UN each year as an accredited diplomat. We are a federal, grassroots incorporated association (governed by a National Constitution) run entirely by young volunteers under 25 years old from across Australia
