Unique Student Identifier - USI

All students undertaking university study or nationally recognised training need to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI). This includes students doing Vocational Education Training (VET) when they are still at school. WHAT IS A USI? The USI is a lifelong education number made up of ten numbers and letters that: creates a secure online record of recognised training and qualifications gained in Australia since 1 January 2015 provides access to your training records and VET transcripts can be accessed online, anytime and anywhere is free and easy to create. WHO NEEDS A USI AND WHY? If youre at university, TAFE or doing other nationally recognised training, you need a USI. Without one, you cant get Commonwealth financial assistance or your qualification or statement of attainment. International students studying offshore do not need a USI.
