Unit Process Company a Bray Company

Unit Process was founded in 1952 by a Dow chemical engineer named Ray Loesby. The original intent was that Unit Process would serve as a manufacturers representative for the chemical and mineral industries. By 1954, Ray began focusing on fluid handling and process equipment, including valves, pumps, and instrumentation. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Unit Process continued to expand its product offering and regional presence. Electric heat tracing and other specialty products were introduced, while sales offices were established in Hawaii, Oregon, Eastern Washington and Alaska. The Loesby family managed the company through the years until Bray Controls purchased the company in 2000. Bray Controls was one of the product lines represented by Unit Process, with a focus on manufacturing butterfly, ball and check valves, actuators, and controls.
