History Universal Blanchers was founded in 1978 with the opening of the first peanut processing plant in Blakely, Georgia. A second facility servicing the Southwest US market was opened in Dublin, Texas in 1990. In October 1999 the company was purchased by the current owners, Universal Blanchers LLC.
