Untermyer Gardens Conservancy

The Conservancy partners with the City of Yonkers to improve and interpret Untermyer Gardens. Created by Samuel Untermyer (1858-1940), an influential lawyer and progressive figure, and designed by William Welles Bosworth, it had been called the most spectacular garden in America in the 1920s. Todays garden comprises 15 cultivated acres of garden and 28 woodland acres in a majestic natural setting overlooking the Hudson River.
