U.S. Military All*Stars

The U.S. Military All*Stars are the only baseball team in the world to field all 5 branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, to include Active Duty personnel, Veterans, Disabled Veterans, Wounded Warriors, and the U.S. Military Academies. The U.S. Military All*Stars was an idea and vision that President George H. W. Bush devised in hopes of re-establishing the morale for troops that baseball gave them back during the World War II era. Some of baseballs greats left their baseball careers to serve in the military, like Ted Williams, Hank Greenberg (Hammerin Hank), George Sisler, Bob Feller, Warren Spahn, Joe DiMaggio, Ty Cobb, Christy Mathewson, Stan Musial, Willie Mays, and many more. At one point during World War I, Christy Mathewson, Ty Cobb, and George Sisler all served together in the U.S. Army under the direction of Major Branch Rickey.
