USAF Inspector General

The Office of Inspector General of the Air Force for the United States Air Force is responsible for conducting investigations and inspections as directed by the Secretary of the Air Force and the Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force. The position in the Air Force was originally established after World War II as The Air Inspector, which was carried over from the Army Air Forces. The current mission of the Air Force Inspector General is prescribed by Title 10 and Title 32 of the United States Code to develop Air Force and Air National Guard policy to assess readiness, discipline and efficiency with a vision to help shape senior leader decisions affecting the readiness of the Air Force to strengthen the nations defense
