Usmanu DanFodiyo University Teaching Hospital Sokoto

Usmanu Danfodiyo University Teaching Hospital was established in the early 1970s with financial support from the Federal Military Government. It was part of a development initiative to create specialist hospitals with teaching facilities in 12 states. The hospital was formally recognized as a second-generation Teaching Hospital in May 1980, along with several other institutions, by decrees from the government. The hospitals construction project was successfully completed in 1989 and was officially commissioned by General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, the then Military President. Since its inception, the hospital has undergone significant transformations and experienced steady growth. This growth has been crucial in enabling the provision of high-quality tertiary healthcare services.
