The UW-Madison Department of Surgery has been dedicated to providing state-of-the-art, comprehensive patient-centered care for adult and pediatric patients in Wisconsin and the region since 1924. We conduct innovative research while building knowledge and improving surgical care through extramurally funded research programs in basic, translational and clinical science. We are proud to train the next generation of academic surgeons through educational programs for medical students, surgical residents and fellows, and provide quality continuing medical education (CME) for surgeons and health care providers in the region
