In 1931, a small school was started in Udaipur by Dr. Mohan Sinha Mehta in the midst of the national movement for freedom. The objective of Vidya Bhawan was to provide civic minded education to all sections of society. It pioneered the concepts of co-education, extra-curricular activities, respect for nature and the absence of corporal punishment.
