Welcome! Were Virginia Sea Grant or VASG! VASG advances the resilience and sustainability of Virginias coastal and marine ecosystems and the communities that depend upon them. As a broker of scientific information, VASG works with resource managers, businesses, communities, and other stakeholders to provide and apply the best science available. By integrating research, public engagement and education, we help address regionally and nationally strategic issues through a program of competitive, rigorously reviewed research, public outreach and engagement, and ocean and coastal education. Virginia Sea Grant is one of 33 programs within the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administrations Sea Grant College Program. We are funded by federal and state appropriations, as well as project-specific contributions from local governments and industry.
