In 2005, Vogo Fund Asset Management Co., Ltd. (formally, Vogo Investment Co.) was founded as the first local and independent Private Equity management company by two founding partners, Dr. Yangho Byeon and Jae Woo Lee, former Deputy Minister at The Ministry of Finance and Economy and former Country CEO of Lehman Brothers, Korea. Since its foundation to 2015, the company has deployed KRW 2 trillion though various Vogo Funds. By the end of 2015, Vogo spun off its Buy-Out operation with the name of VIG Partners (formerly Vogo Investment Group). In early 2016, Vogo Investment registered a new hedge fund license to expand into a variety of other alternative investment businesses such real estate, infrastructure, private debt, fund of funds, and hedge funds.
