History Volunteer Mechanical was established in 1992 by Dennis and Kimberly Wood. It originally began as a small service company backed by Dennis 14 years of service experience. The company started by operating out of the Woods home in Knoxville. As the company grew, a sheet metal shop was added in the garage. The growing business then became incorporated in 1996.
