Walled City of Lahore Authority

The Walled City of Lahore Authority was established by the Government of the Punjab in April 2012. Previously a small project by the name of Sustainable development of walled city Lahore project was initiated in 2006 by the Government of Punjab in collaboration with the World Bank. The same project was merged into the WCLA in 2012. Under this Act, a new municipal authoritythe Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) was created as an autonomous body dedicated to run the urban management functions of the entire Walled City of Lahore. The objectives of the Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) under the ACT are: 1. Identification and the artistic value and authenticity of the heritage of the Walled City of Lahore 2.
