Waterville Valley BBTS - Snowsports Educational Foundation

Waterville Valley Black and Blue Trail Smashers / Snowsports Educational Foundation (WVBBTS / SEF) has its roots in one of the oldest ski clubs in the United States, dating back to 1934. The Black and Blue Trail Smashers club existed for 31 years before the Waterville Valley Ski Area was developed in 1965. During the late 1960s the social ski club transitioned to a competitive alpine competition club and the WV was added to its name. From that time through the early 1990s, Waterville Valley hosted 11 World Cups. By the early 1970s our skiers began winning spots on the US Ski Team, World Cup circuit and on the US Olympic Alpine Team. In 1972 WVBBTS developed our Freestyle Competition Program and founded Waterville Valley Academy. The following year we received our 501(c)3 status as WVBBTS / SEF.
