Donggyun, Chaeyoung and I began my business journey in November 2018 by creating a hexagonal grid chemistry notebook for engineering students. We continued to design and sell paper notebooks tailored for various majors, such as Chemistry, Fashion Design, and Programming, gaining popularity among students for our innovative products. By early 2020, consumer trends started to shift. We noticed an increase in requests for digital notes instead of paper versions, reflecting the growing usage of tablets among students. In response, we co-founders launched WeBudding, a marketplace for digital note templates, and began gathering an initial customer and creator base. The spread of COVID-19 and the subsequent transition to remote learning in schools accelerated tablet usage among students. This favorable market situation resulted in a rapid influx of creators to WeBudding. Recognizing this trend, we pivoted to focus on creating a platform targeting the digital stationery ecosystem.
