The mission of Foundation for Hearing Research/Weingarten Childrens Center is to transform lives of children who are deaf or hard of hearing, teaching them to listen, speak, and learn through: proven spoken language and cognitive development curriculum family-centered education innovative technology Weingarten Childrens Center (WCC) was established in 1967 by parents of children with who were deaf or hard of hearing who believed that their children could learn to listen and speak. For past 54 years, WCC has been a model of excellence in Listening and Spoken Language Education. Foundation for Hearing Research, Inc. dba Weingarten Childrens Center (FHR) is a California 501(c)(3) that teaches listening and spoken language (LSL) to children ages 0 6 who are deaf or hard of hearing.
