Westrans

Westrans was founded in 1967 initially selling rebuilt transmissions and differentials out of a small facility in Winnipeg, Man. The upstart companys ambitious vision would soon outgrow these humble beginnings, however, as Westrans moved to position itself as a major truck parts distributor and brake and power train remanufacturer in the Canadian market. Throughout the 70s, Westrans expanded its presence in the Canadian market, eventually shifting operations to a larger office in Winnipeg. In 1981, Westrans headquarters in Winnipeg moved again, this time into a 61,400 square foot facility in order to meet the widening scope of the operation. The following two decades saw even greater expansion, as the company launched distribution centres in Thunder Bay (1984) and Regina (1990).
