Whites Nursery was founded in the summer of 1956 by Norman White and his wife Hetty. Mr. White constructed the first greenhouse of glass and began growing chrysanthemums while working full time as a naval architect at the Naval shipyard. With the help of his family, caring employees, and high quality standards, the business has grown and diversified. Mr. White was born and reared on the same tract of land that Whites Nursery is located on today. Mr. Whites father, Willis Sheridan White, was the original lover of flowers, devoting a large portion of his farm to the production of cut flowers. Whites Nursery and Greenhouses specializes in growing potted chrysanthemums, hanging baskets, bedding plants, many potted blooming plant varieties, and holiday flowering crops.
