Wisconsin AI Safety Initiative

We are a very ambitious but friendly group interested in building a community of people collaborating together to develop each others skills and ideas when it comes to technical AI Alignment and AI Governance. We host hackathons 1) upskilling people in basic python, deep learning, and pytorch and then 2) upskilling in AI Alignment areas such as Interpretability, OOD detection, Oversight, etc. We host a Cambridge AGI Safety Fundamentals Program conceptually teaching you the basics of AI Alignment and why its the problem of our time. This is the Gold Standard course in the AI Safety field and you are pretty much expected to take it if you are serious about these problems. We host debates on AI Governance policies and their efficacy. We host speaker events with people who are actively working in the field. We host socials/discussions talking about these topics.
