In 1909, John E. Withers left the bitter cold winters of the North behind and settled his family in the warmer and more inviting climate of Miami, Florida. He brought with him two things that would serve him well: experience in transporting goods, and a good sense of business. In the early 1900s, Miami was a new and growing destination for tourists.
