Women in Aeronautics and Astronautics

Women in Aeronautics and Astronautics(WAA) is a student led organization at the University of Michigan. WAA is dedicated to fostering a sense of community among women in fields related to aviation and space, and improving diversity within the College of Engineering, focused on Aerospace Engineering. The group is dedicated to helping members develop personal and professional connections in the aerospace industry. WAA is active on campus and in Ann Arbor. WAA regularly hosts meetings and events including study sessions, aerospace-related laboratory tours, alumni talks, resume critiques, and social events. As a part of our effort to create a sense of community for women and individuals interested in aerospace-related fields, we have a mentorship program that places students of different years in family groups that meet up a minimum of once a month and have the option of attending an end of semester dinner.
